Mayor Michael Victorino is urging Maui County farmers and ranchers to apply for $2.5 million in available federal funds for reimbursement of expenses for losses related to COVID-19 and for food sustainability.

Crystal Dreams at Maui Mall reopened to the public with a new location and reorganized floor plan. The store has been a retailer at the Maui Mall for nearly two decades, providing shoppers giftable and collectible items.

Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort will reopen its doors on Nov. 15. The reopening marks the debut of The Grand Life, programming focused on well-being and incorporating personalized health and safety measures, as well as a reimagined twist to the resort’s experiences.

Wailea Village will hold its monthly Sunset Market from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5 with live music entertainment from Brian Santana. More than 30 local Maui vendors will be offering culinary and beverage treats, fashion items, fine art, home décor, paper goods and stationary.

Subaru Hawaiʻi launched its 10th annual Share the Love Sales Event, which runs from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, 2020, and is supporting four nonprofits: Oahu SPCA, Hawaiʻi’s National Parks, Hawaiʻi Meals on Wheels and Make-a-Wish Hawaiʻi.

Fishery participants eligible for funding include commercial fishing businesses, charter/for-hire fishing businesses, qualified aquaculture operations, wholesale seafood dealers and processors, subsistence/cultural/ceremonial fishers, and other fishery-related businesses.

Today, Mahi Pono planted 300 native ulu and milo along with 30 mai‘a (banana trees) in recognition of the 2020 Hawaiʻi Statewide Tree Planting Day, in partnership with ReTree Hawai‘i.

The service is offered in exchange for monetary tips from westside locations for the driver and their vehicle to their home in Lahaina, Nāpili and Kāʻanapali. For those that need a tow to Kahului, Wailuku or Kīhei, the tow is offered for a flat rate of $100.

The County of Maui’s Immigrant Services Division will hold a virtual information session on Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. to discuss a program by the U.S. Department of State to make 50,000 immigrant visas available.

Mayor Michael Victorino announced Wednesday the launch of a $1 million Small Business Mortgage & Relief direct payment program to provide a lifeline for businesses struggling to survive COVID-19 impacts.

Hawaiian Airlines will reinstate its East Coast flying in December with twice-weekly nonstop service between Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport and Boston Logan International Airport; and three times-weekly service between HNL and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The proposed 40 MW Pūlehu Solar and Energy Storage project to be located near Pūlehu Road on Maui could provide enough clean energy to power approximately 15,000 Maui island homes.
