Governor’s 10th Supplementary Proclamation for COVID-19 (Updated 7.17.20)
On July 17, 2020, Governor David Ige signed his 10th emergency proclamation, which keeps the mandatory 14-day quarantine in effect for travelers entering the State of Hawai‘i. Under the proclamation, travelers arriving in Hawai‘i will continue to undergo a mandatory screening process at the airport.
Hawai‘i Reports State’s 24th COVID-19 Related Death
An elderly O‘ahu woman, with underlying medical conditions, is the 24th death due to coronavirus for Hawai‘i. According to the Hawai‘i Dept. of Health the woman died on Thursday, July 16, and her passing was reported today.

The task force aims to make short-term recommendations to Mayor Victorino by the end of July with long-term strategies presented by the end of August. Hawaiʻi State Department of Education extracurricular and co-curricular activities are scheduled to begin in person on Aug. 19. Extracurricular and co-curricular activities include, but are not limited to, athletics, band, academic competitions and clubs.

Water Conservation Requested for Upcountry and West Maui
Due to lack of rainfall, the Department of Water Supply is requesting consumers in the Upcountry and West Maui areas to conserve water.
So Far… 182 Arrests for Quarantine Violations in Hawai‘i, Including 16 on Maui
So far, 182 people have been arrested by state or county law enforcement officers for violating emergency quarantine rules in Hawaiʻi, according to state officials. The breakdown includes 99 arrests on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi, 46 arrests on Kauaʻi, 21 arrests on Oʻahu and 16 arrests on the island of Maui.
23 New COVID-19 Cases in Hawai‘i; 317 Active Cases Statewide
Today there were a total of 23 new COVID-19 cases in Hawaiʻi for a total of 1,334 reported over the course of the pandemic. The new cases include 20 on Oʻahu, two on Hawaiʻi Island and one in a resident who was diagnosed while out of state. The state Department of Health reports that due to updated testing, three cases were removed from the Oʻahu counts. So far 994 people have been released from isolation and 317 COVID-19 cases remain active in the state.
Hawai‘i Reports State’s 23rd COVID-19 Related Death
Hawaiʻi reported a 23rd COVID-19 related death today on the island of Oʻahu. Lieutenant Governor Josh Green reports the latest death involves an elderly Oʻahu resident who had been isolating at home with family. The state Department of Health confirms that the individual was a man over the age of 60 who had an underlying health condition.

CDC Extends No Sail Order on Cruise Ships Through September 2020

Here in Maui County, the non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 22.6% in June, an improvement from the 34% rate reported last month, but still significantly higher than the 3% rate reported at the same time last year.

Hawai‘i Reports 19 New COVID-19 Cases Today, Most on O‘ahu
There are 19 new COVID-19 cases reported for Hawaiʻi today, including–16 new cases on the island of Oʻahu, and three new cases where island residency is pending identification. This brings the statewide count to 1,311 cases in Hawaiʻi over the course of the pandemic. To date, 975 people (75.6%) have recovered including 120 (93%) recovery in Maui County. There are currently 314 active cases in the state, including nine on Maui. As of July 14 at 4:30 p.m., there were 31 people hospitalized for COVID-19 in Hawaiʻi.
Thermal Temperature Screening Equipment to be Installed Immediately at Five Hawai‘i Airports
The thermal temperature screening equipment will be installed immediately at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Kahului Airport, Līhuʻe Airport, Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole and Hilo International Airport. Phase 3 expects to have the facial imaging equipment installed by Dec. 31, 2020.
Maui “H.E.L.P.” Program Offers Funding for Essential Needs
The Hawaiʻi Emergency Laulima Partnership program or H.E.L.P. has announced a second round of funding available as financial assistance for Maui County residents to pay for essential needs due to a layoff, reduction in hours or loss of income related to COVID-19.
