Maui Prep presents an online auction from May 13-17 in support of their Financial Aid Initiative. Currently 35% of Maui Prep’s student body receive some form of tuition assistance or financial aid.

Alaska Airlines appoints new public affairs manager in Hawaiʻi

Front Street water line break

A main water line break on Front Street has resulted in a road closure and a water outage for 20 businesses and an elementary school in Lahaina. The outage began at approximately 12:30 p.m. and will continue until about 5:30 this evening, according to the county Department of Water Supply.

UH Community Colleges to offer new job training courses for Maui residents

The 1,257-acre area, also known as the Kapāpala Canoe Forest, holds special significance as it is the only state land currently designated for the purposes of cultivating and providing koa for use in kālaiwaʻa, or traditional Hawaiian canoe construction.

3.8 Pāhala earthquake in Hawaiʻi may be related to deep transport of magma

A 3.8 magnitude earthquake reported just before midnight on Sunday May 7, 2023 in Pāhala on Hawaiʻi Island, was part of a swarm of earthquakes that has been occurring in the region since 2019. Scientist with the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory say these quakes may be related to deep transport of magma in the hotspot beneath the Island of Hawaiʻi, but pose no volcanic threat to residents.
