Hawaiian Airlines Made In Maui County Festival, Nov. 4 and 5, 2022

Maui County’s largest products show, the annual Made In Maui County Festival, features more than 140 vendors offering a wide variety of locally made products, including food, produce, art, crafts, jewelry, fashions, furniture, gifts, collectibles and more.

Community budget meetings on Lānaʻi and in Lahaina

The last community budget meetings for Fiscal Year 2024, hosted by Mayor Michael Victorino and his administration, are set for Lānaʻi at the Hale Kupuna O’Lānaʻi, on Wednesday, Nov. 2, starting at 3:30 p.m., and at the Lahaina West Maui Kaunoa Senior Center on Thursday, Nov. 3, starting at 5:30 p.m.

1,600 people attend Maui County Senior Fair

The first in-person Maui County Senior Fair since 2019 on Saturday, Oct. 29, drew about 1,600 people to the War Memorial Gym, where they ate local food, met candidates for office, listened to George Kahumoku Jr. and got their flu and COVID-19 boosters.

First Maui Holomua Marine Initiative talk story draws 140+ recreational fishers

A major emphasis of the talk story sessions is for marine managers and aquatic biologists to just listen to people and gather their thoughts and advice on possible management measures to achieve the 30% goal via a network of MMAs. Additional meetings are planned in Lahaina today, and a third on Sunday in Hāna.

The 2022-2023 Game Bird Hunting Season in Hawai‘i opens Saturday, Nov. 5 and runs through Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023.  Hunting days, equipment, and bag limits vary by unit.

First of its kind rules proposed for manta ray viewing in Hawaiʻi

Currently there are no laws or rules that regulate manta ray diving or viewing activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Officials with the state Department of Land and Natural Resources say this has led to overcrowding and associated safety concerns and user conflicts, and environmental impacts.
