Engel & Völkers Maui has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui to launch this year’s “Keys to Community” initiative, a brokerage-wide effort to help address food insecurity among local families, including those in the Hale Makana neighborhood in Wailuku.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui hosts its annual Perfect Pairings signature fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 18 at the Fairmont Kea Lani.

Sentry is honoring the players who qualified for The Sentry 2026 by making charitable donations to Maui nonprofits in their names—supporting Maui United Way and player-selected organizations that strengthen the Maui community. This release highlights a total of $120,000 in contributions made on behalf of 60 qualifying players.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui has begun its annual Cookie Decorating Contest. The fundraiser supports its one-to-one mentorship programs for Maui youth. Participants of all ages can enter.

Jimmy and Honey Bun Haynes were named Humanitarians of the Year by the Maui Nonprofit Directors Association at the organization’s annual meeting earlier this month.

The Hoʻoikaika Partnership, a coalition of more than 75 organizations and individuals, will host a series of community events this month to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect prevention in Maui County.

For the past nine years, these two agencies have collaborated to serve the community’s keiki, making the drive a cherished tradition made possible by the continued support of local donors. 

Maui High School senior Daphne Takahashi recently received a $500 cash award for her essay: “Lei poʻo: How my volunteer service is intertwined with my community.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai’i has kicked off its annual Cookie Decorating Contest to benefit its youth mentorship programs.

The Maui Nonprofit Directors Association will be announcing the Humanitarian, Business and Executive Director of the Year award winners at the association’s annual meeting, 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Maui Beach Hotel Ballroom.

With the overwhelming support of the Maui community, they were able to reach their goal and filled 100% of requests, distributing more than 1,870 toys to keiki in need on Maui, Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui hosts its 3rd Annual Perfect Pairings Maui event, its main fundraiser of the year, on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 6-8 p.m. at Maui Brewing Co. in Kīhei.

More than 1,800 gifts were distributed to keiki in need in Maui County through the 7th annual Holiday Toy Drive by Maui United Way and Friends of the Children’s Justice Center, with sponsorship from Pacific Media Group, owner of Maui Now.

The Maui Zipline Company at the Maui Tropical Plantation announced a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui that will offer free zipline activities for participants enrolled in the organization’s community and school based mentoring programs this month.
