More than 120 storm impacted residents attended the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association’s giveaway event at The Hampton Inn & Suites, Tuesday.

Hisako Film Lab, in collaboration with Fuzz Box Productions, successfully launched its inaugural Fast Kine Maui 4-Day Film Challenge, culminating in a premiere party on March 29 at The Fuzz Box in Lahaina. The event brought together filmmakers, friends, and community members to celebrate the four days of fast-paced creativity and original storytelling.

The 62-year-old will play the lead role in the cult classic for the eighth and final time during a run from Oct. 17 to Nov. 2 at the historic ʻIao Theater on Maui.

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, Maui Film Commissioner Brian Kohne will address the Rotary Club of Kīhei-Wailea, presenting on the topic of “Maui’s Nascent Motion Picture Industry.”
