First Hawaiian Bank today announced that employees and retirees have made a major impact this holiday season by contributing a donation of $886,449 to 36 charities in Hawai‘i, Guam, and Saipan as part of its annual Kōkua Mai employee giving campaign.

Each youth was given a $100 Target gift card for their Christmas shopping.

Update: The Hawaiʻi Catholic Community Foundation and Maria Lanakila Church have announced the postponement of their ‘Spiritual and Wellness Health Fair,’ originally scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Royal Lahaina Resort’s Aliʻi Ballroom.

This interim DCMP is funded by the American Red Cross for 90 days and will provide 20 dedicated case managers who will be able to help support up to 700 individuals. Once finalized, the FEMA-supported DCMP will expand to provide support to all survivors for up to two years.

About 100 vendors and candidates for office have signed up for the 49th Maui County Senior Fair on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the War Memorial Gym.

Catholic Charities Housing Development Corporation will dedicate the second phase of its Kahului Lani senior affordable rental housing development on July 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Applications are currently being accepted for the second phase of Kahului Lani, an affordable senior rental complex developed by Catholic Charities Housing Development Corporation in Central Maui. Kahului Lani provides seniors, ages 55 and over, who earn 60% or less of the county median income with an affordable permanent living option, offering complementary amenities so residents can “age in place.”

Maui County is now accepting applications for its new federally funded Emergency Rental Assistance Program, which also includes assistance for utility bills (electricity, water, sewer and gas).

Hawaiʻi’s Rent Relief and Housing Assistance Program has distributed nearly $60 million in rental assistance to 13,690 Hawai‘i households.

The project site is comprised of approximately 4.8 acres of land on Pu‘unēnē Avenue.
