Portion of South Kīhei Road will close due to roadwork from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 15-19
A portion of South Kīhei Road – from Kaonoulu Street to Ohukai Road in North Kīhei – will close for sand cleanup from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 19, 2024, the County of Maui Department of Public Works Highways Division announced.

Part of South Kīhei Road between Wailana and Kaonoulu streets was reopened ahead of schedule at 3 p.m. Friday, according to the County of Maui Department of Public Works. The area was severely damaged by recent floodwaters.

The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation will close Piʻilani Highway nightly in both directions between Kaonoulu Street and Piʻikea Avenue from 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, through 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8.

The Piʻilani Highway (Route 31) will be closed in both directions between Kaonoulu Street and Piʻikea Avenue on Monday night, May 24, 2021, through Saturday morning, May 29, 2021, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for the installation of a temporary traffic signal at Kūlanihākoʻi Street.

The Kīhei Islander Route #10 will begin normal routing on Thursday, July 2.
Water Shut-Down to Affect Kīhei, May 6
Water will be shut off from approximately 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6 to 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, affecting water services off: South Kīhei Road (between Wailana Place and Kūlanihākoʻi Street); Wailana Place; and Kaonoulu Street (between South Kīhei Road and Halili Lane).
