The Lahaina Restoration Foundation is now accepting reservations for the next screening of E Hoʻi Ka Nani I Mokuʻula (Let the Glory Return to Mokuʻula) on Friday, June 13 at 6 p.m. at The Sphere at Maui Ocean Center. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.

Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) is launching the final phase of its $15 million capital campaign to create the Main Street Arts Project, MAPA’s new performing arts campus in Wailuku. This project is the culmination of MAPA’s decades-long dream to own its own home and revitalize Wailuku through the arts.

The deadline has been extended from April 30 to May 31, 2025, for applications for the County of Maui Office of Economic Development Fiscal Year 2026 Grant Program.

This month’s popular Hawaiian Music Series will feature a performance by local musician Nāmaka Pauʻole. The free, family-friendly concert will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the Ocean Lawn at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa in Kāʻanapali.

In celebration of Earth Day, the Mayor’s Sustainability Speaker Series will welcome educator, curriculum developer and voyager Mary Anna (Enriquez) Grimes for a special presentation on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at noon in the Mayor’s Conference Room, ninth floor, 200 S. High St., Wailuku.

Kristin Baja, who has worked on resilience hubs for more than a decade, will discuss the role of hubs in supporting sustainability during a lecture and a community forum on Thursday, Jan. 16, as part of the County of Maui Mayor’s Sustainability Series.

The LahainaTown Action Committee, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, hosts a special holiday edition of the Kōkua for Maui Shop Local and Show Aloha event, taking place on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. This event invites the community and visitors to come together in support of Lahaina’s resilient local businesses in time for holiday shopping.

The Maui Visitors and Convention Bureau hosts its second Canoe Crop Corner, a celebration of Maui’s rich agricultural heritage at Wailuku First Friday on Nov. 1. A cultural advisor and chef will continue this showcase the flavors of Hawai’i’s ancient canoe crop, kalo—one of the plants brought to the islands by early Polynesian voyagers.

Maui Food Technology Center will hold an in-person Food Labeling Workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Maui Food Innovation Center at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College, Pilina Building, Room 225 located at 310 W. Kaʻahumanu Ave. in Kahului. Those interested in learning about the latest in food labeling, regulatory requirements, and how their efforts can be a game changer are encouraged to attend.

Maui Visitors Bureau presents Canoe Crop Corner at Wailuku First Friday, happening from 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 4. This can be found on the first floor of the Wailuku Garage located at 30 North Church St. in Wailuku.

Cody Pueo Pata will be the featured musician at this month’s free Hawaiian Music Series on Thursday Sept. 26 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Lahaina Civic Center Amphitheater. Pata is the Kumu Hula of Ka Malama Mahilani, a classically trained Haku Mele, and an entertainer and musician of Hawaiian music. He is also a Hawaiian language and culture educator.

The County of Maui Office of Economic Development, in collaboration with local partners and nonprofits, has launched the West Maui Business Center and online business portal www.WestMauiBusinessCenter.org to aid local businesses directly and indirectly impacted by the August 2023 wildfires. 

The Office of Economic Development (OED) will accept new grant applications for programs, projects and events that promote and nurture economic development in Maui County.

The next Hawaiian Music Series of 2024 will take place on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m., at the Lahaina Civic Center Amphitheater. This is the first Hawaiian music series in Lahaina after the fire. This free event will feature well-known local musician Joshua Kahula.

Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa will host its next Kōkua for Maui event on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the resort. The event is a place where Maui residents and visitors can shop and show their aloha for local artisans and Lahaina small businesses who were impacted by the August 2023 wildfires.

Hilton Grand Vacations Inc. marked a milestone as it formally recognized the grand opening of Maui Bay Villas, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club, located on 27 acres in South Maui.
