The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation is asking drivers to watch for runners taking part in the Hāna Relay on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026.

Maui Ocean Center will present the 16th annual Maui 5K from 6 to 9 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2027. Registration is now open, with special advanced pricing until Oct. 1.  

University of San Francisco High School captured the inaugural tournament championship, with Maryknoll High School finishing as runner-up.

Kahului resident Anson Cabello has punched his ticket to the Sony Open in Hawai‘i after winning the Hawai‘i State Golf Association’s amateur qualifying event at Waiʻalae Country Club on Monday.

Three Maui golfers — Anson Cabello of Kahului, Reagan James Miles of Kīhei and Tyler Loree of Kula — are among the 12 amateurs selected to compete in the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaiʻi Qualifier on Nov. 24 at Waiʻalae Country Club.

Two former Maui high school standouts led the way for Hawai‘i, while No. 21 Oklahoma surged ahead with a commanding 21-under finish to open the 2025 Kā‘anapali Classic by OUTRIGGER on Monday at Kā‘anapali Golf Courses.

The Maui Mustang 10U baseball team is headed to California next month after clinching the Hawaiʻi Region Championship with a 5-4 win over Team Kauaʻi on June 16 in Hilo.
