Night traffic signal work to close lanes at Hāna Highway and Haleakalā Highway intersection
The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation notifies the public of night lane closures for traffic signal work at the intersection of Hāna Highway and Haleakalā Highway. The closure will be from 9 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 20 to 6 a.m., Friday Nov. 21.
Portion of Vevau Street to close temporarily Friday for Kahului Transit Center electrical work
A portion of Vevau Street in Kahului – between Kāne and School streets – will temporarily close to public vehicular traffic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, due to an electrical project at Kahului Transit Center, according to the County of Maui Department of Transportation. Maui Bus and pedestrians will still be allowed to utilize the roadway during this time.
Puʻunēnē Ave. between Papa and Kūihelani to be closed nightly beginning Monday, Sept. 8
Motorists are advised that all lanes on Puʻunēnē Avenue (Route 3500), between Papa Avenue and Kūihelani Highway (Route 380) will be closed nightly beginning, Monday, Sept. 8 for utility crossing and pavement reconstruction work.
Portions of Honoapiʻilani Highway and Keawe Street to close overnight for safety repair work
Motorists are advised that the right turn lane on Keawe Street onto Honoapi‘ilani Highway (Route 30) at Lahaina Gateway will be closed temporarily on Thursday night, Sept. 4. Also, from 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, to 6 a.m., Friday, Sept. 5, there will be roving lane closures in either direction on Honoapi‘ilani Highway fronting the Fairway Shops in Kāʻanapali.
DPW pavement project Sept. 3-19 will impact portion of Olinda Road in Makawao
One lane will be open to alternating traffic on Olinda Road between Baldwin Avenue and Hanamu Road in Makawao due to pavement preservation work from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays Sept. 3-19, 2025, according to the County of Maui Department of Public Works Highways Division.
One lane on North Kīhei Road to close overnight for safety improvements
The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation advises road users that one lane in either direction on North Kīhei Road will be closed from 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28 to 5 a.m., Friday, Aug. 29 for safety improvements.
