A morning fire at an office trailer on Amala Place in Kahului caused $150,000 in damage Thursday. The incident was reported at 5:08 a.m. at a commercial recycling business.

MFD announces public fireworks displays and fireworks laws, safety guidelines for New Year’s Eve

Maui County will host two public aerial firework displays this year—one at the Grand Wailea Resort and another at the Four Seasons Resort Lānaʻi—according to a recent announcement from the Maui Fire Department. The department reminds residents that the import, transfer, sale, or use of aerial fireworks outside of permitted displays is illegal, extremely dangerous, and punishable as a Class C felony.

Makawao home fire causes $260,000 in damage, five people displaced

The County of Maui Department of Fire and Public Safety received the Lahaina Fire Summary of Findings and Conclusions report from the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024. Maui Fire Chief Brad Ventura was briefed by ATF on the report today, Sept. 25, 2024.

The Maui Fire Department joined Maui County Mayor Richard Bissen, members of the Maui Police Department, Kahului Airport Crash Rescue, other responders and fire personnel from around the state and the nation in saying a final farewell in honor of the life and service of fallen firefighter Tre’ Evans-Dumaran. Fire Fighter Evans-Dumaran’s ʻohana has set up a foundation to honor his life and service. They are hosting the first of their “Live like Tre’” days this Sunday, May 14 at the Hannibal Tavares Community Center in Pukalani beginning at 10 a.m.
