DOH provides health risk guidance on reentry to Maui wildfire impact zone

Monday, Sept. 25 marks the beginning of reentry for some two dozen addresses in Zone 1C within the inundation zone on Kaniau Road in Lahaina. As residents and owners are allowed reentry to their properties in the impacted areas of the Maui wildfires, the state Department of Health is sharing information on the health risks and potential emotional impacts involved.

The County of Maui through its Emergency Operations Center and Maui Emergency Management Agency has requested this utility work to begin in the upcoming weeks to restore county wastewater pumps that service the area. Residential return process begins in Lahaina disaster area, first zone identified for reentry

Kaniau Road in Zone 1C will be the first area to be cleared for residential reentry in the Lahaina disaster area, on Monday and Tuesday next week. A vehicle pass will be required for entry, and applications will be distributed on Friday through Sunday at the Lahaina Civic Center during specified hours.
