The US Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program is seeking sponsor organizations on all islands to help provide children in low-income communities with free meals during the summer months. No-cost oral health services for public school students expand to Maui
As part of its expansion to the neighboring islands, the Hawai‘i Keiki––Hawai‘i Dental Service (HDS) Dental Sealant Program developed a partnership with dentists Emi Orikasa and Steven McDaniel at Hui No Ke Ola Pono, Inc. Under the partnership, the dentists are participating in a community-wide effort to provide better oral healthcare access to public school keiki in Maui County.

Predator-proof fence installation begins at Kanahā Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary
Work is currently underway to replace an old, rusty fence that surrounds the sprawling Kanahā Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary on Maui. The old fending is being replaced with predator-proof fencing to keep rats, cats, mongoose, and dogs from attacking ground-nesting birds.

Catching up with Maui Grammy winner Jason Baum
Maui born Jason Baum has been a presence in the music and film industry as a producer for more than a decade. The Maui High school graduate has been nominated for four Grammys in his career thus far, and is up for another Grammy this year with hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part 5” in the category of Best Music Video.
