I went to go pay my water bill recently and saw someone in the lobby of the county building with their candidate’s name on their T-shirt waiting for the elevator. Isn’t that sort of campaigning in the county building banned during election years? I find it offensive personally. 

“I made unintentional mistakes that hurt me, but I did so while fighting those who profit from intentional mistakes on the backs of working people. All I can do is apologize, correct my problem, face the consequences, make changes so they never happen again, and move forward,” said Rep. Ing.

In his bid for South Maui’s (District 11) seat in Hawaiʻi’s State House of Representatives, former Maui County Council Member Don Couch will host a meet-and-greet afternoon social at the 5 Palms Restaurant in Kīhei from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018.

The panel discussed issues that included the influx of tourism, keeping pace with infrastructure, affordable housing, control of water, the importance of agriculture and efforts to diversify the economy.

Faith Action for Community Equity (FACE) Maui will host an Affordable Housing Mayoral Forum on June 28, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Valley Isle Fellowship Church located at 1033 Waiale Road in Wailuku.

The Haʻikū Community Association will host an Upcountry candidate’s panel during its upcoming meeting on Wednesday night, June 20 at the Haʻikū Community Center. The meeting will run from 6:30 p.m to 8 pm.

Former Councilmember Mike Molina said: “My seeking election to the Pāʻia, Makawao, Haʻikū Council seat, after a break in service is consistent with the intent of the Charter Commission recommendation.”

Due to the continuing volcanic eruption, the Office of Elections issued a proclamation today designating polling places 04-03, Pāhoa Community Center, and 04-04, Pāhoa High/Intermediate School, as absentee mail precincts for the 2018 Primary Election.

The deadline to file nomination papers to appear on the 2018 Election ballot is Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 4:30 p.m.
