Ad 2 Hawaiʻi launches public service campaign application for local nonprofits

Ad 2 Hawaiʻi, a nonprofit organization composed of advertising professionals under the age of 32, today announced the opening of applications for its 2024-2025 Public Service Campaign. This initiative offers 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations across Hawaiʻi the opportunity to receive professional marketing services completely free of charge. The deadline to apply is Friday, Nov. 1 at 11:59 p.m. HST. 

Hawaiian Electric activates PSPS program in West Maui due to wildfire risk, stands ready to shut off power

With the National Weather Service’s cancellation of the red flag warning for all Hawaiian Islands, Hawaiian Electric has deactivated its Public Safety Power Shutoff watch. As a result, Hawaiian Electric did not shut off power to customers during the watch because of its PSPS program. Any power outages on Wednesday were unrelated to the PSPS program.

Construction Industry of Maui raises $65K for Maui County high school vocational trade programs

The Construction Industry of Maui announced that its annual golf tournament raised $65,000 to support construction trade programs in Maui County high schools. Held at The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course on Sept. 28, the event brought together 140 golfers, 25 students from Maui County high schools along with their teachers, and 20 volunteers for a day of community spirit and support for the next generation of construction industry leaders.
