Deeply moved by the news of the Aug. 8, 2023 wildfires, Andrea Thornton, member of the Rotary Club of Boise Southwest Idaho, and her husband, Jim Kokaly, decided to collaborate with the West Maui Rotary clubs to provide aid to those affected.

The Credit Unions of Maui recently lauded their 9th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held on Aug. 10 at The Dunes at Maui Lani. This year’s event brought together 144 golfers and community supporters, resulting in $38,000 raised to benefit Hospice Maui, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care for Maui residents.

The Saint Anthony School will host its annual Links to Education Golf Tournament fundraiser on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course.

Entertainment, auctions, gourmet food and fine wine tasting will highlight “Maui Calls,” the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s signature fundraising gala, beginning with a silent auction Monday, via https://mauiarts.ejoinme.org/MauiCalls. The 26th anniversary Maui Calls event will take place 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 9.

Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is hosting a new series of “Love for Lahaina” culinary pop-up events in October to support the hospitality industry and farmers who have been directly affected by the wildfires.

Three fundraisers are being held on Maui on Saturday and several more are scheduled in the near future — including benefit concerts on Oʻahu and in Tacoma, Wash. — to benefit people affected by the Maui wildfires.

With the devastation caused by the recent Maui fires, Regency Theatres who lost its movie theater on Front Street in Lahaina, is hosting a fundraiser for the Maui Food Bank.  This weekend, Friday through Sunday, Aug. 18-20, 2023, 20% of all revenue including Concession and Box Office Ticket sales (at select Regency Theatre locations) will be donated to the Maui Food Bank to assist with disaster relief.  

Funds raised during the car wash will benefit Maui Youth & Family Services programs, including mental health and substance abuse treatment, emergency shelter, therapeutic foster homes, outreach and advocacy, and substance use prevention programs.

Maui United Way hosts a car wash next Saturday, Jan. 23 to help support their 39 partner agency programs here in Maui Nui.

The Maui tennis community, including Mayor Arakawa and former Councilman Bill Medeiros came out Saturday, April 9 to Wailea Tennis Club and helped raise more than $10,000 for the “Kokua Japan” relief fund.
