The Maui County Special Fair Day will return to Wailuku on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, for a private event dedicated to Maui Nui community members with intellectual and developmental disabilities, according to an announcement by Mayor Richard Bissen. Volunteers are being sought for the celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at War Memorial Special Events Complex.

The beloved Maui County Fair Parade, presented by Maui Land & Pineapple Company Inc. and supported by the County of Maui, will kick off the 99th Maui Fair on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.

The 99th Maui County Fair takes place on Oct. 1-4 after a successful return last year following a six year hiatus. The fair will be held at War Memorial Special Events Complex in Wailuku, and nonprofit food vendors and product and services exhibitors are encouraged to apply by May 15, 2026.

Mayor Richard T. Bissen, Jr. announced today, Nov. 8, 2025, that he will seek re-election to continue serving the people of Maui County, emphasizing steadfast leadership, community collaboration, and long-term resilience as the foundation of his 2026 campaign.

The last chance to catch the 98th Maui County Fair is on Sunday, Oct. 5 at the War Memorial Stadium Complex. The event features E.K. Fernandez rides, contests, food booths and other activities at the War Memorial Special Events Complex.

An estimate 30,000 people attended the 98th Maui County Fair on Thursday’s opening day, according to fair organizers. The historic return of the Maui County Fair kicked off festivities with the traditional parade up Kaʻahumanu Avenue.

Today marks the start of the 98th Maui County Fair, returning after six years. The event features E.K. Fernandez rides, contests, food booths and other activities from Oct. 2-5, 2025, at the War Memorial Special Events Complex.

To ensure safety and efficiency for 98th Maui County Fair participants and area motorists, the County of Maui has coordinated free shuttle services, free and paid parking areas, rideshare sites and traffic impacts for the event from Oct. 2-5, 2025, at the War Memorial Special Events Complex in Wailuku.

With support from the County of Maui, the Maui County Fair is offering special boat rides and shuttle services to help residents of Lāna‘i and Moloka‘i join in this year’s festivities.

Four days of live music, hula and comedy by local performers will be part of the entertainment lineup for the Maui County Fair, which will be held Thursday, Oct. 2, to Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, at the War Memorial Special Events Complex in Wailuku.

A Special Fair Day for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mobility impairment and members of the Deaf community will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, as part of the Maui County Fair. The event at the War Memorial Special Events Complex will include rides, games and live entertainment.

After a six-year hiatus, the Maui County Fair is making its long-awaited return. For the first time since 2019, the Fair will bring back the joy, traditions and community spirit that Maui has celebrated for nearly a century. The 98th Maui County Fair will take place Oct. 2–5, 2025, at the War Memorial Special Events Complex in Wailuku.

The Maui Fair is a beloved local tradition that drew about 90,000 people the last time it was held in 2019.

Bringing back the annual fall tradition of thrilling rides and delicious food booths is a challenge made tougher by high costs and the county’s focus on rebuilding Lahaina after the 2023 wildfire.

The Maui Fair Alliance announced that it will not organize or hold a Maui Fair in 2024, and will be taking steps to dissolve after years of dedicated service to the Maui community. The Maui Fair was last held in October 2019 several months before Hawaiʻi’s first COVID-19 case was confirmed in the islands.

Even with significant support from the County of Maui and Mayor Richard Bissen, as well as assistance from the State of Hawaii and unions, the Alliance said it will not be able to hold the Maui Fair in 2023.  

About 100 vendors and candidates for office have signed up for the 49th Maui County Senior Fair on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the War Memorial Gym.

The 98th Maui Fair will resume in 2023, with organizers foregoing an event this year due to logistics.

The 98th Maui Fair is canceled again this year due to ongoing public health concerns related to the continued presence of COVID-19 in the community.

The Maui Gift & Craft Fair will return on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lahaina Gateway shopping center. All vendors of the outdoor fair have passed a COVID-19 protocol training and will adhere to health safety and guidelines. #MauiNow #LahainaGateway #MauiGiftandCraftFair
