The Maui Police Department requests the public’s help with any information on the whereabouts of Rowland Ramos, 57, of Wailuku. Ramos was reported missing by a concerned family member on May 3, 2025 after he left a medical appointment in Wailuku and has not been in contact with family members.  Ramos was last seen on May 3, 2025 at 5 p.m. in the area of Maui Lani Parkway in Wailuku.

The state Department of Transportation will be conducting road work this week that will result in lane closures at various locations. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. 

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation has advised motorists that crews will be performing electrical maintenance work on the traffic signal at the intersection of Ka‘ahumanu Avenue and Maui Lani Parkway fronting Baldwin High School on Monday.

Police say a preliminary investigation reveals that a silver 2020 Honda CR-V was traveling northeast on Kuikahi Drive when the operator failed to navigate the turn at the intersection and drove through the grassy median and into the opposing lane.  The vehicle continued to travel straight, drove over the raised curb, onto the opposing shoulder, and collided into a tree, according to department reports.

An afternoon brush fire in Kahului burned a half acre of brush below the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Maui Lani Parkway Wednesday.

Due to a brushfire across from the LDS Church on Maui Lani Parkway, the road is closed from the roundabout, mauka bound lane. Motorists are asked to please avoid the area.

County officials say the closure will help to address safety concerns and limit traffic in the surrounding area. The roundabout project located at the Maui Lani Parkway-Kamehameha Avenue intersection is scheduled to be completed before the start of school.

Major intersection construction work on the $3.15 million Maui Lani Roundabout project begins on Monday, June 15, 2020, resulting in a seven-week closure of the intersection at Maui Lani Parkway and Kamehameha Avenue.

Construction work on the Maui Lani roundabout project will begin Monday, April 27, at the intersection of Maui Lani Parkway and Kamehameha Avenue in Kahului, the County of Maui Department of Public Works announced this afternoon.

First responders are on the scene of a motor vehicle accident on West Kaʻahumanu Ave at Maui Lani Parkway. The accident was reported shortly before 7:40 a.m.

With school rush hours and commuters taking the shortcut to the highway, the traffic gets very backed up.
