Santa traded his sleigh for an outrigger canoe this year, catching waves to arrive ashore at Outrigger Kā’anapali Beach Resort on Friday, Dec. 19.

Surf conditions are lining up for this weekend’s 2nd Annual First Responder and Military Honolua Classic, with organizers issuing a Green Light alert as of Dec. 3. The invitation-only event is scheduled for Dec. 6–7 at Honolua Bay.

Maui’s Elizabeth Kamaile Kahailihauwelo Kekahuna, representing Hālau Keʻalaokamaile under the guidance of Nā Kumu Hula Kealiʻi Reichel and Henohea Kāne, was announced as the winner of the 33rd annual Hula O Nā Keiki competition at Outrigger Kā’anapali Beach Resort.

Outrigger Kāʻanapali Beach Resort invites guests and the community to immerse themselves in two deeply rooted cultural experiences this fall: the Kauluhiwaolele Maui Fiber Arts Conference (Sept. 11-13, 2025) and Hula O Nā Keiki, the coveted children’s hula competition (Oct. 10-11, 2025).

The 55th annual Maui Marathon is set to make an anticipated return to West Maui with all-new full and half marathon routes. Scheduled for Sunday, April 27, this year’s event will feature familiar breathtaking views and a fast, flat course.

Surfrider Foundation Maui Chapter will host a free screening of Inflatable Film’s award-winning, 40-minute documentary, “Uncle Bully’s Surf Skool” on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. The documentary follows local Maui surf instructor Robert “Bully” Kotter and his mentorship of Lahaina’s under-served youth during the pandemic.

Outrigger Resorts & Hotels has tapped Meghan Lee on Maui to lead overall sales and marketing for Outrigger Kā‘anapali Beach Resort while naming Luana Maitland to oversee cultural programs at Outrigger’s Waikīkī beachfront resorts.

Outrigger Resorts & Hotels announced Amber Tesoro director of leisure sales at Outrigger Kā‘anapali Beach Resort on Maui.

Edwin Torres will lead the  Outrigger Kā‘anapali Beach Resort as its general manager with a commitment to helping families and the community in the aftermath of the Lahaina wildfires.

As of Sunday morning, Aug. 20, approximately 1,800 individuals are reported to be sheltered at six hotel locations around Maui, with the American Red Cross and volunteers assisting with the transition from congregate shelters to hotels. Displaced individuals still at congregate shelters has dwindled to just 16 people.

Outrigger Resorts & Hotels finalized its acquisition of the iconic Kāʻanapali Beach Hotel on Wednesday. The 11-acre, 432-room property is now rebranded as Outrigger Kā‘anapali Beach Resort.  Outrigger today announced that Maui Brewing Co. will be the primary restaurant at the Outrigger Kā‘anapali Beach Resort.

Maui Brewing Company will open its new restaurant at Outrigger Kā‘anapali Beach Resort, featuring a beachfront venue with expansive outdoor seating, island-inspired cuisine, and a wide selection of craft beers.

Mauiʻs Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel is being acquired by Outrigger Hospitality Group, according to a joint news release announcement.  The transaction is expected to close on July 26, at which time the property will be rebranded as OUTRIGGER Kā‘anapali Beach Resort.
