A 28-year-old Kahului man succumbed to injuries suffered when he was struck by a car while trying to cross Kahului Beach Road on foot.

A 48-year-old Kīhei man sustained fatal injuries in a hit-and-run crash on South Kīhei Road, Tuesday night. Police say the man was walking north within the northbound lane of travel on South Kīhei Road when he was struck by a possibly a silver or grey Toyota pick-up truck that was also traveling in the same direction.

A 71-year-old man suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross South Kīhei Road on foot, outside of a marked crosswalk, police said.

A 64-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision reported in South Maui on Thursday night. A preliminary police investigation reveals that a pedestrian was on the sidewalk when an unknown vehicle executed a short radius right turn out of the parking lot located at 1881 South Kīhei Road; proceeded to drive over the curb and onto the sidewalk when it collided into and drove over the pedestrian.   The operator of the unknown vehicle did not stop or render aid to the pedestrian and fled the scene northbound on South Kīhei Road, police said.

A fatal hit-and-run collision in Kapalua on Friday claimed the life of a 39-year-old Lahaina woman. Police say a preliminary investigation reveals that the woman was attempting to retrieve a chicken carcass out of the roadway and walk back to the southbound makai shoulder when she was struck by a white 2014 BMW X5 traveling northeast on Honoapiʻilani Highway.  The operator of the BMW did not stop or render aid to the pedestrian and fled the scene northeastbound on Honoapiʻilani Highway, according to police.

A 68-year-old Lahaina woman who was struck by a vehicle while crossing the Honoapiʻilani Highway on foot Wednesday night, has died of injuries sustained in the collision.

A 24-year-old Kula man suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by a car while walking on the asphalt shoulder of the Hāna Highway in Kahului on Thursday night, police said.

Kūihelani Highway is now open as of 4 p.m. It was closed earlier this afternoon from Honoapiʻilani Highway to Waikō Road due to a fatal motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

Jason Walsh, who was struck by a car May 26 while crossing Hāna Highway on foot in Kahului, has died of his injuries while at Kaiser Moanalua Hospital on Oʻahu, the Maui Police Department reported today.

An unidentified male pedestrian was in the outer westbound lane of Kaʻahumanu Avenue in Kahului at about 8:47 p.m. Friday when he was struck by two vehicles and suffered fatal injuries, according to the Maui Police Department.

A 74-year-old Kīhei man suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident on South Kīhei Road at around 7:36 p.m. Monday. Police say the vehicle involved may be a red SUV of an unknown make/model/year.

An 82-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle while she was walking within a sidewalk on Mo’olu Circle in Waikapū last month, has since succumbed to injuries she sustained in the crash.

A 72-year-old man who sustained injuries after being struck by a vehicle while walking on the Maui Veterans (Mokulele) Highway last month, has since succumbed to his injuries while hospitalized on Oʻahu. Maui police have identified the man as Billy Joe Theus of Kīhei. 

A Maui man was arrested this week in connection with a fatal motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian reported in the parking lot of McDonald’s on South Kīhei Road more than a year and a half ago.

If a signal is equipped with a countdown timer, it is illegal for a pedestrian to start crossing the road if the countdown has already begun.

A pedestrian succumbed to injuries sustained in a traffic accident Saturday night in Kīhei. The victim has since been identified as Brandon M. Wilson, 22.

A Maui man suffered fatal injuries after being struck by a tow truck near the south entrance to the Maui Marketplace in Kahului on Monday afternoon.

The pedestrian has since been identified, following the notification of next of kin, as Yonina Helgenberger, 37, of Kahului.

The collision occurred as a Chevrolet Tahoe MPV traveling west on Hāna Hwy, collided into a pedestrian who was walking on the highway inthe west-bound lane.

A Kīhei man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of 16-year-old Hannah Simmons of Maui.
