St. Anthony School banks on new sports academy, ʻŌlelo Hawai‘i program to boost plummeting enrollment

The blueprint to attract students to St. Anthony, the alma mater of Maui County Mayor Richard Bissen and Major League Baseball two-time champion Shane Victorino, has been developed over the past year and is being implemented for K-12 for the 2025-26 school year.

Students to lead ‘Walk to the Box’ in Wailuku to inspire voter turnout

Our Kaiāulu Votes, a coalition of schools and community organizations striving to inspire voter participation across Hawai‘i, will host a “Walk to the Box” on Oct. 23, to encourage civic engagement ahead of the general election in early November. Participants, including first-time youth voters from four area schools, will drop off their ballots at Wailuku Community Center and sign-wave outside Queen Kaʻahumanu Center.

St. Anthony School postpones ‘Sunday in the Shade’ event 

St. Anthony School is postponing its “Sunday in the Shade – A Vintage Pāʻina” event. The fundraiser commemorating the school’s 175th anniversary had been planned for Oct. 1, 2023, on the school grounds. The school will announce a new date when it is determined.

St. Anthony School hosts Open House, Jan. 28

St. Anthony School in Wailuku will host an Open House event for families interested in learning more about the campus, which offers classes from preschool through Grade 12.

St. Anthony School Begins In-Person Learning with New Leadership

St. Anthony School Maui began the 2021-2022 school year in-person on Monday with its highest enrollment in over a decade, a new Head of School, new church leadership, and is looking forward to unveiling their own Athletic Center on campus.

St. Anthony School Accepting Applications for Second Semester

St. Anthony School has reopened the application process for families interested in enrolling their children for the second semester of the 2020-21 school year. The application process only applies to students currently in grades 6 -11.  Students will return for the second semester on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021.

“The Sun Will Rise Again on Maui”: Pauwela Sunrise Ice Cream and School Kits Spread Happiness

On Friday, two groups organized distributions: Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui handed out over 1,250 enrichment bags to children, which contained healthy snacks and workbooks; and Roselani Ice Cream celebrated National Ice Cream day by preparing 1,000 free bowls of Paʻuwela Sunrise flavored ice cream for a drive-through distribution at St. Anthony School.

“With so many unforeseen difficulties in our daily lives with the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects, we want to use this opportunity to do something small in hopes that it might make someone’s day a bit easier and a bit more fun,”  said Roselani Ice Cream Operations Manager, Buddy James Nobriga.
