Store owners released surveillance video of an alleged theft incident in which a Onewheel GT portable electric rideable board, valued at $2,200 was stolen from Hi-Tech Surf Sports in Pāʻia over the weekend.

Hawai‘i Island police detectives have identified the male driver in yesterday’s officer-involved-shooting as 32-year-old Kainoa Kahele-Bishop of Kailua-Kona.

The manhunt continues on Hawaiʻi Island for Ronald Patrick Keahonui Kahihikolo, 44, of Ocean View. He is wanted for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident reported on Tuesday morning, March 7, 2023 at an Outrigger Drive residence in Ocean View.

A total of 18 individuals were arrested in Maui County during a warrant sweep conducted in partnership with the US Marshals Service. The Maui Police Department is seeking the public’s help with any information regarding a suspect involved in an alleged assault at a Pukalani home reported on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023.

A Kahului man is dead following an officer involved shooting at a home in Central Maui Thursday evening. Maui police officers responded to a report of a suicidal male who later succumbed to injuries sustained in the incident.

Maui police have identified the man arrested during Wednesday’s impaired driving checkpoint as 32-year-old Dustin Jay Costa.

A man suspected of driving while under the influence of drugs was arrested and tased by police Wednesday night at the annual impaired driving checkpoint held in memory Hannah Brown.

The victim has been identified as 43-year-old female Amie Kaholoaa of Kaunakakai, Molokaʻi, who police say was the girlfriend of the suspect. After an extensive investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division and Molokaʻi Patrol, officers arrested the suspect, identified as 59-year-old Mariano Garces of Kaunakakai, Molokaʻi.

A Molokaʻi man was placed under arrest on suspicion of second degree murder after authorities were called to his home and discovered the body of a lifeless female within the home.

After a two-week jury trial, a federal jury today found Defendants Kaulana Alo-Kaonohi, 32, and Levi Aki, Jr., 33, each guilty of a hate crime for what prosecutors described as “racially motivated attacks” on C.K., a white man, when he attempted to move into the home he had purchased in their Kahakuloa neighborhood.

The suspect is seen browsing the sunglass rack, dropping items along the way and taking a handful of merchandise including skateboards, eyewear and backpacks.
