The state Department of Health reports that there were 73 additional COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Wednesday, including 45 on O‘ahu, 15 on Maui, six on Hawai‘i Island, three on Kaua‘i, one on Moloka‘i, and three in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state. There were a total of 1,161 cases logged over the past two weeks, 262 of them in Maui County.

Beginning May 11, fully vaccinated travelers who received their vaccine in Hawaiʻi may travel inter-county (Kauaʻi, Maui, and Hawaiʻi) without having to take a pre-travel test or quarantining for 10 days. The announcement was made by Gov. David Ige during an afternoon press briefing.

Cacao Farmers Gear Up for Harvest at Maui Ku’ia Estate Cacao Farm, Public Tours Open
Spring harvest is underway for cacao farmers David McPherson and Palani Wright at the Maui Ku‘ia Estate Chocolate’s 20-acre cacao farm with over 5,000 cacao trees to be harvested. The Lahaina farm also opened for public tours from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., seven days a week, from Monday through Sunday.

There were a total of 1,180 cases logged over the past two weeks, 269 of them in Maui County.

Coqui Infestation Detected in Remote Area of Waimanalo, Eradication Efforts Launched
The primary area impacted appears to be about an acre along the base of the mountains in Waimanalo where 65 coqui frogs have been hand captured so far.
