State Adds “Trusted Partners” for Domestic Trans-Pacific, Inter-County Pre-Travel Testing Program

The State of Hawai‘i has added new trusted partners for its domestic transpacific and inter-county pre-travel testing programs. The state will accept COVID-19 test results from the new partners starting Nov. 17.

There were 110 new COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i on Friday, including 92 on O‘ahu, eight on Hawai‘i Island, one on Maui, two on Kaua‘i and seven in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed outside of the state. Lānaʻi and Moloka‘i had no new cases on Friday.

Hyatt Regency Maui, Andaz, Hāna-Maui Resort, Wailea Beach Villas Resume Operations

Two Maui properties, the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa in Kāʻanapali and Wailea Beach Villas, A Destination Hotel, opened on Oct. 15. On Nov. 1, the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort began welcoming guests back; and next week Friday, Nov. 20, the Hāna-Maui Resort is slated to open.

Maui Humane Society Celebrates Record Breaking 800 Spay/Neuter Surgeries in Wake of Pandemic Disruption

The onset of COVID required MHS to temporarily stop performing elective surgeries like spay and neuter for public animals. The ten week hiatus meant that more kittens were born, adding to Maui’s community cat overpopulation. Since reopening in July, Vet staff have worked to make up for the disruption in service.

Health Department Issues Red Placard to Kīhei Restaurant Due to Alleged Roach Infestation

The Department of Health reports that an inspector visited the restaurant after receiving a complaint from a customer that reported finding a roach in crispy noodles purchased from the restaurant.

DOH recorded 64 additional cases of COVID-19 in the reporting period that ended at noon today. The majority are on O‘ahu with 53 new cases. No additional deaths were reported today.
