Imua Family Services welcomes Maui’s children and their families to its third annual Keiki Holiday Festival on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Will Smith Imua Discovery Garden in Wailuku.

Holiday cheer is on its way to Kapalua. All are invited to experience the magic of the festive season as The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua hosts its Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 1 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  

The talented young musicians of Suzuki Maui and Haleakalā Waldorf School join seasoned artists in the 21st Annual Suzuki Maui Christmas holiday concert on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m. at Makawao Union Church.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents Jake Shimabukuro & Mac McAnally, Celebrating Songs & Stories on Distant Shores at the MACC on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2024. This performance is in the MACC’s Castle Theater starting at 7:30 p.m.

The annual Hui Holidays shopping event at Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center, featuring over 100 local artists and vendors, will offer a unique array of Maui-made gifts from Nov. 17 to Dec. 23.

The Queen Kaʻahumanu Center hosts Kamaʻāina Nights tonight (Friday, Nov. 17), featuring Piʻilani Arias, and the Keiki Club with Kumu Luana Kawaʻa on Saturday morning, Nov. 18. 

Today, four-time GRAMMY Award Winners and Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, The Doobie Brothers, have released a new single “Lahaina” along with a music video to provide aid and support to Maui following the August 2023 wildfire disaster.

For entertainment this week on Maui, there are performances by the Great American Jazz Piano Competition finalist Jeff Hellmer & Friends, three-time Nā Hōkū Hanohano winner Kevin Brown and Maui Prep actors in Beauty and the Beast, as well as a Winter Craft Fair and the 50th Maui County Senior Fair.

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua is pleased to welcome country singer-songwriters Kylie Morgan and Jay Allen to the resort for a special Thanksgiving concert. They will perform a free concert in the resort’s Alaloa Lounge, located in the lobby overlooking Kapalua and Honokahua Bay. Donations will be accepted to support the Maui community post-wildfires.  

Liam Moleta of Oʻahu earned this year’s title for his performance of “Aloha Nō Kahului.” Also competing were Tevita Lisiate Apina-Pacheco from Waiʻanae, O‘ahu, Antonio Robles of Wailuku, Maui, and Via Tiumalu Jr from Kīhei, Maui.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents comedian Leslie Jones at the MACC in the Castle Theater, starting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024.

The Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum presents “Fifty Years of Life: ʻUmeke from King Kalākaua’s Jubilee,” a third-floor installation in Hawaiian Hall offering insight into Kalākaua’s significant contributions to Hawaiian culture. The exhibit runs through June 2024.

Maui Preparatory Academy will present Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” at the Bozich Center for Athletics and Performing Arts on Nov. 17, 18, and 19.

ProArts will host a screening of the cult classic horror comedy “Blood Diner” on Nov. 18, with proceeds benefiting Maui Rapid Response.

Las Vegas’ 2nd annual Holo Holo Music Festival is expanding to three days in April 2024, featuring J Boog, Iam Tongi, Maoli, The Green and more.

The November edition of the Hawaiian Music Series will take place on Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. at Hale Ho’ike’ike at the Bailey House Museum in Wailuku. This event will feature a performance by the Kamehameha Schools Maui Hawaiian Ensemble, a group of students committed to preserving Hawaiian culture through music and dance.

Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center is one of 10 arts organizations nationwide to receive the 2023-2024 Stand For The Arts Awards, recognizing its support of artists and communities.

The 2023 Festivals of Aloha culminates this month with the 21st Richard Ho‘opi‘i Falsetto Contest on Saturday, and events next week on the island of Molokaʻi.

For entertainment this week on Maui, there’s the Maui Veterans Day Invitational Kayak Clash, the 21st Annual Falsetto Contest, a free performance by The Voice contestant Jason Arcilla, debuts of Makana’s song “Lahainalalo,” and a recital by classical pianist Mahana Teave as part of a Wildfire Benefit Concert Series.
