Lahaina Gateway will host a virtual Halloween scavenger hunt Oct. 24-29, with followers searching for hidden Halloween items in an upcoming Lahaina Gateway Facebook and Instagram post and providing the answers via direct message.

“In the Spring of the 2019-2020 school year, KKHS Drama had been rehearsing for their musical Footloose for seven  weeks.  We went into Spring Break looking forward to two 8-hour Tuesday and Wednesday rehearsals in which we could finally run the entire show–music, acting, choreography that we had spent so much time learning.  Then, the world, and our show, fell into a heap,” Kepler recalled.

Hui No Ke Ola Pono will host Holoholo Heleuī, a free and fun “spooktacular” community health event at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“Halloween is On!” Trick-or-Treating is Back but Drive-Through Events are Encouraged While a return to door-to-door traditions is allowed this year, the Mayor is encouraging drive-through options like the “Halloween Drive-Through Adventure at Keōpūolani” Park in Kahului. The event runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Halloween evening, Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021.

ʻUlupalakua’s MauiWine chose Maui native Jaclynn Sabado-Eitel to create two custom prints for limited edition bottles as part of the winery’s annual “Artist Series.”

Pet owners are invited to celebrate the spooky season with Kīhei Kalama Village by sending a picture of their pet’s awesome Halloween costume to the center’s Virtual Pet Costume Contest.

A virtual Halloween Costume Contest is taking place now through Oct. 24, for children, ohana and pets to win Spooktacular gift baskets with prizes from merchants at The Shops at Wailea.

The public is invited to become a part of the resulting artwork and to learn more about her process during her “open studio” days at Wailuku Coffee Company on Market Street, where she will be seated outside on Sunday, Oct. 3 and Monday, Oct. 4 beginning at 7 a.m.

Mālama Maui Nui is accepting submissions for the 2022 Art of Trash and Trashion Show, a juried event that inspires community members to reimagine resources and create art and fashion using recycle and/or reused material.

Hundreds of Kumu Hula came together in recent months to create and ratify the “Huamakahikina Declaration,” a historic document on the integrity, stewardship, and protection of hula.

Kamaehu Kawa‘a earned the championship title at the 19th annual Richard Hoʻopiʻi Leo Kiʻekiʻe Falsetto Contest, held Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua. The competition featured five contestants showcasing their high-register voices in the unique style of falsetto.

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs received three awards from the Accolade Global Film Competition for its short film titled “Mana i Mauli Ola,” which details how the organization is working with the community through its new strategic plan to positively impact the wellbeing of Native Hawaiians.
