New for 2023 and beyond, the Sentry Tournament of Champions now includes the top 30 players from the final FedExCup standings who qualified for the previous year’s Tour Championship.

The Sentry Tournament of Champions, in conjunction with First Tee – Hawaiʻi, will host a fun and interactive event for Junior golfers of all skill levels.

The 2022 Maui Jim Maui Classic Collegiate Basketball Tournament takes place this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 17 and 18 at the South Maui Community Gym in Kīhei.

Four more players have committed to play in the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions: 2022 Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, Tony Finau, Max Homa and Sam Burns.

At the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions, for every one adult admission two kids age 15 or under can get in free.

With less than 35 days remaining before one of the most accomplished fields in golf arrives at The Plantation Course at Kapalua for the Sentry Tournament of Champions from Jan. 4-8, the tournament is teaming up with Mauna Loa to provide kamaʻāina tickets at special prices.

The recent runner-up Nora Liotta (HAW), current Hawaii/Tahiti Nui No. 1 Moana Jones Wong (HAW), No. 2 Puamakamae DeSoto (HAW), Sunset Pro Finalists Eweleiula Wong (HAW) and Brianna Cope (HAW), and more are on the hunt for big results of their own.

Maui’s own Billy Kemper earned the runner-up spot in the men’s final, with fellow Valley Isle competitor, Kai Paula earning a fourth place finish.

When action resumes, the men’s Round of 32 will feature renowned phenom Jackson Dorian (HAW) taking on an in-form Luke Tema (HAW), Diego Ferri (HAW), and Rylan Beavers (HAW) in Heat 1. 

Maui’s Levi Young (HAW) also put on a clinic in his Round of 96 debut, accruing an remarkable 14.65 and 8.25 of his own with a dominant forehand attack. The now 18-year-old witnessed his older brother, Cody, win this event in 2019 and that helped spark ambitions of his own. 

Currently, 38 players have qualified for the Maui golf championship — 28 by heir PGA Tour victories this season and 10 by finishing in the top 30 of the final FedExCup standings in August.
