BREAKING: Maui County Notifies EPA of Banned Pesticide Finding at Wastewater Treatment Facilities from 2016
The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management this week notified the US Environmental Protection Agency and the state Department of Health, reporting October 2016 findings from wastewater test samples of the presence of nitrophenol. The chemical is a metabolite of methyl parathion, the active ingredient in Penncap-M, the same banned pesticide identified in the recent Monsanto case on Maui.
