A structure fire in Waiehu caused an estimated $125,000 in damage and displaced two people. The fire was reported at 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, at the 1600 block of Kahekili Highway.

Volunteers from Kahului Walmart and Walmart’s Hawaiʻi Market Office helped assemble 1,225 food boxes at the Maui Food Bank last week.  It’s part of an ongoing program for Lahaina’s Filipino community by Kaibigan ng Lahaina and supported by the American Red Cross.

Larger contributions of primarily in-kind services in Hawaii include: Hawaii Foodbank – $1,254,000; Maui Wildfire Recovery – $ 648,000; Maui Foodbank – $ 613,000; and American Heart Association – $77,500.

A blessing ceremony was recently held for Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi’s Maui Support Center, a new facility that provides counseling services and other assistance to first responders assisting Maui wildfire survivors.
