Maui Family Support Services hosts the Early Childhood Resource Fair on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Cameron Center Auditorium. This free, family-friendly event connects parents and caregivers with valuable early childhood resources, local preschools and childcare options.

Prevent Child Abuse America announced that Maui Family Support Services, Inc. has been reaccredited through March 2027.

Maui Health employees across each of five facilities continued their annual tradition of giving this year, spreading holiday cheer and hundreds of gifts with 44 Maui County families in need. the distribution was made through Maui Family Support Services’ Adopt-A-Family program.

This five-year, $1 million per year award will allow the MFSS QCHK project to continue child care subsidy assistance to Native Hawaiian children and families on the islands of Maui, Moloka’i, and Lānaʻi.

These unrestricted funds will support MFSS’s Maui County Early Childhood Resource Center to help at least 25 families with up to $200 per month in subsidy for summer child care tuition in a time of need that can alleviate stress and worry for parents and enable them to continue stable, nurturing care for their children, thereby reducing the risk of child abuse and neglect.

Funding will support the agency’s Ho‘owaiwai Kaiāulu Project, which provides a continuum of services that promote the Protective Factors within families of children and youth in Maui County.

MFSS has been providing year-round Early Head Start services in Maui County for more than 23 years. This grant will allow MFSS to serve 119 pregnant women/0-3 year old children. Early Head Start promotes early childhood education and development, school readiness, and encourages parents to be better caregivers and teachers to their children.

Maui Family Support Services, Inc. is the recipient of a $664,584 grant for the islands of Maui and Lāna‘i and a $60,244 grant for the island of Moloka‘i from the Hawaii Department of Human Services.

Maui Family Support Services, Inc. is the recipient of over $1000 in proceeds from Anthony Pfluke’s “We Will Rise” new album release party and Nalu’s re-grand opening on March 27 and 28, 2021.

Maui Family Support Services Inc. captured surveillance images of two individuals allegedly stealing gas from their nonprofit vehicle early Monday morning. The incident was reported at around 2:30 am. on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the business located at 1844 Wili Pa Loop in Wailuku.  

Services to families participating in Maui Family Support Services continue through tele-practice, tele-visits, teleconferencing, or video-conferencing.  In person meetings, visits, and support groups are temporarily suspended.

The US Department of Health and Human Services will award $1,000,000 in federal funding to Maui Family Support Services to support the Quality Care for Hawaiian Keiki Project.

Child care subsidy assistance is available for income eligible, Native Hawaiian families who are working, or in school/training with kids ages 0-13 years old.

US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard today announced federal funding totaling $1 million for childcare subsidies, making services affordable and accessible for more than 200 Native Hawaiian families in need.

The funds provided by OHA will allow MFSS to expand and enhance this annual event which focuses on the vital importance of fathers in the social, academic, and behavioral development of their children.

Last year alone, the organization assisted over 5,000 people in need, which included making 4,466 home visits, helping 136 people access mental health, substance abuse or domestic violence services, and providing developmental screenings for 953 children.

The non-profit Maui Family Support Services will be the recipient of ʻOhana Fuels “Fuel Up, Do Good” program for the next three months.

The previous CEO, L. Jani Sheppard, who served the agency for 10 years, resigned from the post. Edeluisa Baguio-Larena was selected as the organization’s interim chief executive officer while the search for a permanent CEO is underway.
