Volunteers are needed for the 2024 Sentry Tournament of Champions as it returns to the Plantation Course at Kapalua in January. 

The new Hula Badger IPA will be available at Koholā Brewery and select retailers on Maui throughout the tournament, and the week following, until supplies last. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Maui United Way and their 39 partner agencies. The 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions gets underway on Thursday, Jan. 5.

“From exclusive food offerings to the best views in golf, attending the Sentry Tournament of Champion is a celebration of Maui and offers an experience for every fan,” according to tournament organizers.

The $642K raised is the largest charitable impact figure for the local community since the event moved to Maui in 1999.

Earlier this week, the mayors signed a proclamation declaring January as Maui-Stevens Point Connected Communities month, which will become an annual celebration. Sentry Insurance laid the foundation for the proclamation in advance of the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions, which began on Thursday.

The Sentry Tournament of Champions features new fan activations and expanded food options at the Taste of Maui and FanTime on Nine when the event returns to The Planation Course at Kapalua from Jan. 5-9, 2022.

The J. Walter Cameron Center in Wailuku is seeking volunteers to help the Center in directing the parking of cars at the Sentry Tournament of Champions event happening during the first week of January 2022.

Sentry Insurance Foundation presented Maui United Way with a contribution of $25,000 to go toward their 2020-2021 Live United Campaign. Hideki Matsuyama and Jordan Spieth qualified for the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions after their recent PGA TOUR victories. Matsuyama and Spieth have qualified to join the other 14 TOUR winners next January in paradise when the Sentry Tournament of Champions returns to The Plantation Course at Kapalua.

As a result of changes to the professional golf calendar made by the PGA TOUR due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions field will include an additional qualification category.
