Maui Arts & Cultural Center has issued a call to artists for the second edition of its statewide juried biennial exhibition in Schaefer International Gallery, MACC Biennial 2025. This signature exhibition is an opportunity for artists living in Hawaiʻi to enter their strongest, most innovative, and thought-provoking work, embodying fresh approaches in contemporary art.

The public is invited to attend the 2025 State of the County Address, which will be presented by Mayor Richard T. Bissen, Jr. from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Maui Arts and Cultural Center’s Castle Theater. Doors open at 4 p.m. An RSVP is requested but not required for in-person attendees.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will host a free President’s Day concert featuring Hawai‘i Youth Symphony’s top orchestra, Youth Symphony I, on Monday, Feb. 17, at 4 p.m. in the Castle Theater. The event is open to the public, but pre-registration is required online.

Queen Kaʻahumanu Center is excited to welcome Alexander Academy of Performing Arts, which recently relocated from Hāliʻimaile this past September. Maui Arts & Cultural Center announces the opening of Schaefer Portrait Challenge from Jan. 14 – March 22, 2025. A signature of the MACC’s Schaefer International Gallery, this marks the eighth edition of this statewide juried exhibition with a selection of 40 portraits from five islands, showcasing the unique diversity of Hawai‘i’s people.

The inauguration of the Maui County Council for the 2025-2027 term will be held Jan. 2 at 10 a.m. at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center’s Castle Theater.
