Maui Mayor Michael Victorino this morning said he’s asking that the resumption of dine-in restaurant services on Maui be moved from the previously announced June 5th date to an earlier June 1st date instead; but he’s awaiting approval from the governor’s office.

After being prohibited from offering dine-in service for the past two months, Hawai‘i restaurants will gradually begin to reopen their doors to customers, aligning with the state’s Roadmap to Recovery and Resilience.   Here on Maui, resumption of dine-in table service under new health and safety guidelines and restrictions begins on June 5, 2020.

Moloka’i High’s Grab-and-Go school meal service restarts today, April 7, to provide breakfast and lunch for children 18 and younger. The Department of Education also added Grab-and-Go meal service to Kilohana Elementary on Monday, April 6; and will add service at ʻĪao Intermediate School on Maui on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

In less than a week’s time, local families got on board with Central Pacific Bank and Central Pacific Bank Foundation’s #KeepHawaiiCooking initiative to achieve its goal of 10,000 meals shared with the community.

Launched in March of this year, The Show Aloha Challenge focuses on serving vulnerable, homebound seniors nutritious meals from locally owned restaurants.

HIDOE Grab-and-Go meal service at Lokelani Intermediate will start on Wednesday, April 1 instead of Tuesday as previously announced. Work is still being completed to repair an electrical issue in the kitchen area of the cafeteria.

The restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will begin offering curbside pickup at the front drive of Napili Kai Beach Resort.
