The Maui Chamber of Commerce announced the date of the 4th Annual BizMixx Maui event on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the Grand Wailea Resort Maui. This is the signature fundraiser to benefit the chamber’s work.

New travel-related dengue virus case confirmed on Oʻahu

The Hawai‘i Department of Health has identified a new travel-related dengue virus case on Oʻahu, bringing the number of total cases to 16 identified in the state in 2024 (one on Kauaʻi, four on Maui, 11 on Oʻahu). The affected traveler was exposed in a country where dengue is common.

Kīlauea eruption continues with spectacular lava fountains reaching 100 feet

The eruption at Kīlauea volcano that began on Monday, Dec. 23, continues this morning. Over the past day, vents in the southwest portion of the caldera have continued producing a fan of lava flows covering the western portion of the crater floor during sustained lava fountaining.

First monthly statewide siren test for 2025 scheduled for Jan. 2

Crews respond to brush fire in Kahului near Lihikai School

A brush fire reported off of Kunu Place in Kahului earlier this afternoon was extinguished. Fire officials say the blaze burned an area less than 100 feet by 50 feet in size, and was doused just a few minutes after Engine 1 arrived on scene without any other units assisting.  No damages were reported.
