Women’s Round One has been called ON at the Outerknown Tahiti Pro Presented by I-SEA, Stop No. 7 of the 2026 World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT). After three days saw the completion of the men’s first two rounds, the world’s best women will get their shot at Teahupo’o at this year’s event.

Three-time World Champion John John Florence has announced that he will defer his return to the World Surf League, Championship Tour for another year. Florence, who was awarded the WSL Season Wildcard, has decided to withdraw from the 2026 CT and extend his break from full-time competition to continue to focus on his family and travel.

Maui’s last remaining Championship Tour surfer Imaikalani deVault kept his season alive yesterday at the Western Australia Margaret River Pro, defeating CT rookie Alan Cleland Jr. (Mexico) to advance to his first quarterfinal of the year.

The Hurley Pro Sunset Beach, Stop No. 2 of the 2024 World Surf League Championship Tour, is ON today and will see the world’s best surfers get their Sunset campaigns underway in clean four-to-six-foot waves.

Hawaiʻi’s own five-time World Champion Carissa Moore announced today that she will be stepping away from competitive surfing to start a new chapter in her life and career. She will step away from competition following the 2024 Lexus Pipe Pro, the 2024 SHISEIDO Tahiti Pro, and the 2024 Olympic Games Paris.

Carissa Moore of Hawaiʻi took home the women’s title in the Surf Ranch Pro Presented by 805 Beer in Lemoore, Calif. In the men’s division the title went to Griffin Colapinto (USA).

Maui surfer Ian Gentil made the mid-season cut on the World Surf League’s Championship Tour, and now looks to begin a fight for a chance at the Final 5 starting next week in Lemoore, California.

Molly Picklum (AUS) and Filipe Toledo (BRA) won the Hurley Pro Sunset Beach, the second stop on the World Surf League 2023 Championship Tour, in six-to-eight foot waves Sunday at Sunset Beach on the North Shore of Oʻahu. 

Maui’s Ian Gentil has officially qualified for the 2023 Championship Tour following Ezekiel Lau’s elimination from the Haleiwa Challenger at home in the Hawaiian Islands. 

Tyler Wright (AUS) and Filipe Toledo (BRA) won the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, the fourth stop on the World Surf League 2022 Championship Tour. 

Today, 11-time World Champion Kelly Slater won the Billabong Pro Pipeline, the first stop on the World Surf League 2022 Championship Tour. The World Surf League Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold Haleiwa Challenger, the final stop of the 2021 Challenger Series, is back ON. The event resumed at 8:05 a.m. HST with the men’s Round 2 Heats 9-16 beginning the action in a 4-6 foot swell. Women are set to make their debut in Round 1 immediately following men’s action.

Currently sitting at No. 4 on the Challenger Series, Maui-born Imaikalani deVault needs one last result to secure his place within the Top 12 on the World Surf League’s Championship Tour.

Carissa Moore (HAW) and Italo Ferreira (BRA) won the Rip Curl Newcastle Cup presented by Corona today, the second stop on the World Surf League 2021 Championship Tour, in three-to-five foot waves at Merewether in New South Wales, Australia.

For the first time in Championship Tour history, women will compete at the world-famous Banzai Pipeline to complete the final rounds of the Maui Pro presented by ROXY. The Maui event was moved to Oʻahu after a fatal shark bite incident at Honolua Bay on Tuesday, Dec. 8 involving a recreational surfer.

The next call at the Banzai Pipeline will be today, Friday, Dec. 18 at 7 a.m. HST. In addition to continuing the Billabong Pipe Masters presented by Hydro Flask, the call will also determine the schedule for the final day of competition for the Maui Pro presented by ROXY.

The World Surf League is ending the suspension of the Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons presented by Hydro Flask, the first stop on the 2021 Men’s Championship Tour. In addition, the remaining heats in the Maui Pro presented by ROXY will be hosted at the legendary Banzai Pipeline on Oʻahu’s North Shore within the Pipe waiting period, which continues through Sunday, Dec. 20. 

The remaining heats for the Maui Pro professional women’s surfing event presented by ROXY will not take place at Honolua Bay on Maui, organizers announced. The competition was suspended on Tuesday following after an apparent shark bite incident in which a recreational surfer was bitten.  The victim died on Wednesday evening.

Honolua Bay offered up flawless five-to-eight foot (1.8 – 2.4 meter) surf with Hawaiʻi’s Carissa Moore, and Australia’s Tyler Wright and Sally Fitzgibbons advancing to the semifinals.

The Maui Pro presented by ROXY, the first stop of the 2021 World Surf League Championship Tour, is ON starting at 7:05 a.m. local time today.
