Each year on the second Saturday in May, letter carriers across the country collect non-perishable food donations from customers. These donations go directly to local food pantries to provide food to people who need our help.

Free document shredding, a telephone town hall on fraud prevention, and webinars on online safety are being offered during AARP Fraud Prevention Month in April.

In the wake of the recent typhoon that devastated communities across the Philippines, a Maui based Filipino owned restaurant is stepping up to help. Joey’s Kitchen Kahului at Balai Pata has announced a community-wide food and clothing drive to support relief efforts for families who have lost their homes, belongings and access to basic necessities.

In a show of community support, six Rotary Clubs across Maui helped Maui Food Bank collect enough donations to provide 5,443 meals during this year’s Holiday Food Drive on Saturday, Nov. 15. Volunteers were stationed at every Safeway location on the island from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., encouraging shoppers to give what they could during a season of rising need.

In response to the ongoing federal shutdown and disruptions to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the State of Hawaiʻi has launched the Kōkua Food Drive, a weeklong food collection campaign beginning today in partnership with the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System to support food banks across the islands.

The Maui Food Bank today announced that the National Association of Letter Carriers’ 33rd annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive collected over 26,000 pounds of food from Maui residents on Saturday, May 10. This community-wide effort will help provide meals to local families facing food insecurity.

To take part, place non-perishable food items in a bag next to your mailbox before mail delivery on Saturday, May 10. Your letter carrier will collect the donations.

In a united effort to support local families experiencing food insecurity, Steve’s Plumbing & A/C partnered with Maui Food Bank to host its first-ever food drive on Maui. To date, the company has donated over 12,000 meals and plans to expand its impact through targeted, island-specific drives.

The State of Hawaiʻi and the City and County of Honolulu, in partnership with Hawaiʻi Foodbank, have officially launched their 2025 employee food drives to help fight food insecurity across the islands. Together, the state and city have set a goal of providing 515,000 meals to Hawaiʻi residents in need.

Maui Mall Village is celebrating the holiday season with a series of festive events and activities designed to spread joy and support the local community. One of the most significant efforts this year is the Season of Giving: A Holiday Food Drive, in partnership with the Maui Food Bank.

The 24th annual Paddle For Hunger, held on Thanksgiving morning, concluded a successful fundraising effort for the Maui Food Bank, thanks to a crowd of nearly 200 community members. 

This year, 23 businesses raised more than $8,800 and 1,761 pounds of food through the end of October, which combined will provide 50,710 meals to individuals and families across the Maui Food Bank’s network.  

Santa Claus ignites holiday excitement at The Shops at Wailea with a vibrant parade, memorable photo ops, and a musical extravaganza headlined by Grammy Award-winner Kalani Peʻa, reinforcing the Maui shopping center as a festive destination.

Maui carriers collected a total of 47,000 pounds of food and $550 in monetary donations while delivering their routes. This will help the Maui Food Bank provide approximately 38,140 meals for those in need in Maui County. 

The National Association of Letter Carriers will conduct its 31st annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 13. 

n partnership with Maui Food Bank, Pukalani Terrace Center will once again sponsor a Holiday Food Drive taking place now through Dec. 31, 2022.  The Center is accepting donations of non-perishable dry-goods and canned goods, as well as monetary donations for distribution to local families in need.  

The celebration kicks off with the traditional Santa Parade from Kalama Park to The Shops on Black Friday, Nov. 26. Starting at 9 a.m., Santa will cruise down Kīhei in style in a 1963 Cadillac escorted by the Maui Classic Cruisers. He is expected to arrive at The Shops around 10:45 a.m. to spread good cheer.

The Hawai‘i REALTORS® Charitable Foundation collected $19,120 in monetary donations and 3,500 pounds of non-perishable food items for Food Banks across Hawai‘i.

Maui Mall hosts a Thanksgiving food drive, Nov. 1-20, 2020. Participating merchants, which will have bins for shelf-safe donations within their stores, including: Cricket Wireless, Subway, Genki Sushi, IHOP, Maui County Business Resource Center, Whole Foods and Baskin Robbins.
