The County of Maui Office of Innovation & Sustainability invites the public to its second annual Innovation Lab Address and Meeting from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, in the Mayor’s Conference Room at the Kalana O Maui county building.

Maui County’s voters can expect to receive their General Election ballot packages starting Oct. 18.

Round 2 in a battle over Mayor Richard Bissen’s proposed phase-out of approximately 7,000 transient vacation rentals in Maui County’s apartment-zoned districts will move tomorrow to a different venue and have a duration estimated at only one hour.

The Maui Mayor’s Office of Innovation & Sustainability is partnering with ʻĪao Intermediate School to continue climate justice education and youth participation in public policy.  More than 150 students will march to Kalana O Maui this morning to share their research in the Maui County Council Chambers regarding sustainability, resilience and human rights. 

Gently used clothing, shoes and accessories for women, men and children will be for sale at the event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 9 and 10 on the front lawn of Kalana O Maui County Building, 200 S. High St., Wailuku. Only cash will be accepted as payment at this event. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui.

County of Maui Department of Water Supply payment windows will be closed Thursday and Friday, March 7 and 8, while its fiscal division is relocated to 1888 Wili Pā Loop in Wailuku (former credit union location). The DWS fiscal division will reopen at 1888 Wili Pā Loop at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 11. Regular payment hours at the new location will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Maui County has become the first county in the State of Hawai’i to establish its own Department of Agriculture.

The Department of Water Supply has reopened its bill payment window on the fifth floor of the Kalana O Maui Building, effective today.

In-person service was suspended in early August because of the rapid spread of the COVID-19 delta variant.

The Department of Water Supply will temporarily close its payment window on the 5th floor of the Kalana O Maui Building for all transactions beginning Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021. All other payment options are still available.

The Kalana O Maui Building is lit in light blue tonight, and on Wednesday and Thursday this week in honor of National Emergency Medical Services Week, May 16-22, 2021.

In honor of Police Week May 9-15, Mayor Michael Victorino has directed the Kalana O Maui Building to be lit in blue tonight, Thursday and Friday.

The County of Maui hosts a Christmas drive-through event at the Kalana O Maui County Building in Wailuku as Mayor Michael Victorino shares holiday snacks and good cheer.

The County of Maui is set to close as early as the end of this month on the purchase the Hawaiian Telcom Building in Wailuku Town to provide more space for Maui Emergency Management Agency operations and for information technology workers.

“While they have provided video conferencing as an option for public testimony, there have been technical glitches such as dropped calls and disconnections. We all need to work together to support our communities with more transparency and greater effort to ensure our people are given a fair opportunity to be heard,” said Mayor Victorino.

The building will be open during normal business hours from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays.  The council has notified the county that the 8th floor will remain closed at this time–this includes the council chamber and council member offices.
