As part of a community service and team-building initiative, the AAA employees who were visiting Maui partnered with Maui United Way to assemble and donate 102 bicycles for foster youth across Maui County.

Jim Falk’s Valley Isle Motors hosted more than 200 children and their families last week and presented each child with a new bicycle as an early Christmas present. The Ford dealership’s showroom was empty of cars but filled with bikes of all sizes and a sea of smiling faces.

Krank Cycles Maui, in partnership with Jim Falk Motors, invites the community to join the Jim Falk Keiki Christmas Bike Build, Saturday, Nov. 23, at Calvary Central (behind the old sugarcane mill) in Puʻunēnē. Starting at 9 a.m., volunteers will assemble and distribute nearly 500 bicycles to Maui children, focusing on those affected by the Lahaina and Maui wildfires.

Maui Bicycling League members and supporters are encouraged to volunteer for a bike giveaway for wildfire displaced residents, set for Saturday at Krank Cycles on Kupuohi St. in Lahaina.

This Earth Month, to celebrate their favorite sustainable mode of transportation, the Maui Bicycling League has organized a 17-mile “Haʻikū Ride Around” on Saturday, April 27.

A newly opened bicycle shop in Lahaina is giving away over 100 bicycles on a first-come, first-served basis to Maui residents who have been displaced by wildfires. Two events will be held to distribute the bicycles, on Saturday, April 20 and Saturday, April 27 at Krank Cycles’ Lahaina location.

Krank Cycles will open a new shop next month in Lahaina, according to an announcement.

About 225 people showed up to a Krank Cycles event, and in a little more than two hours, all 400 donated bikes were assembled for children and adults affected by the Maui fires.

Maui-based Krank Cycles received a donation of 400 new bicycles and is calling on the community to come together on Sept. 23 and help assemble these bikes to be distributed among Maui wildfire survivors.

After a recent fire severely damaged Makawao bicycle shop Krank Cycles, the shop, which focuses on community outreach, is on the road to recovery. Owner Aaron “Moose” Reichert said his flagship Makawao location nearly lost everything, but people in the community stepped in to help and he’s now opened a temporary location a couple doors down.

Krank Cycles is holding a grand opening March 5 for its second bike shop, located at 270 Dairy Road in Kahului.

Makawao-based bicycle shop, Krank Cycles Maui will donate 40 to 50 bicycles at no cost to the Lānaʻi community and keiki as part of its “Lānaʻi Bike mission” at the Lānaʻi Service Station from 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 1. The Krank Cycles team will also provide free bicycle tune ups and servicing at the event in Lānaʻi City.
