As Lahaina marks three years since the Aug. 8, 2023 fire, Maui artist Rafael Pereda is unveiling “Lahainaluna,” a deeply personal new painting created over the past year in honor of the community he has called home for more than two decades.

Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center invites artists to submit work for Impressions & Imprints, a juried exhibition bringing together artists working in printmaking, metalsmithing, and ceramics. Online registration will be open from May 12–19, 2026, with Artwork Receiving Day taking place on Tuesday, May 19, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. at Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao.

Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Schaefer International Gallery announces the return of its popular summer visual arts education program, Young Artmakers. Led by teaching artists and gallery staff, these hands-on workshops provide young artists ages 5-7, 8-12, and 13-18 an opportunity to meet and make new friends while enhancing and exercising their creative skills.

The online silent auction for Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center’s Art Affair 2026 is now live, offering the community an opportunity to bid on an exciting collection of artwork, experiences, and one-of-a-kind offerings while supporting arts education and creative programs on Maui.

Maui Open Studios concludes its three week self-guided art experience with a grand finale weekend in South Maui, Feb. 28 through March 1, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Maui Public Art Corps has opened its Fall 2025 Call to Artists, inviting creatives to transform authentic community stories into site-specific, participatory public artworks that reflect the history, culture and identity of Maui County. 

King’s Tide Lahaina is not your typical tattoo studio. Founded by tattoo artist Justin Blake, the space combines custom tattooing, professional laser removal, a curated art gallery, and an event venue—creating a welcoming gathering place for Maui’s creative community.

Hui Noʻeau Visual Arts Center proudly presents “Sally French: Welcome to My World’” a retrospective exhibition highlighting the prolific and influential career of celebrated Kauaʻi artist Sally French. Mālama Maui Nui has announced that submissions are now open for The Art of Trash & Trashion Show 2025, which will be featured at Maui Mall Villages from April 19 to May 17.

Maui artist Challys Pascual has won the Jurors’ Choice Award for the Schaefer Portrait Challenge 2025 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

A signature of Maui Arts and Cultural Center, the Schaefer Portrait Challenge, has been held as a triennial since 2003. This year’s challenge will mark the eighth iteration of this statewide juried exhibition, which presents the unique diversity of the people of the Hawaiian Islands through explorations in portraiture.

The Meet the Artist series returns today from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Sandbar in the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. The event was created in the wake of the devastating wildfire that tragically impacted Lahaina.
