The Maui County Veterans Council, in collaboration with the County of Maui, veterans organizations, military affiliates, youth groups, and community volunteers, invites the community to attend the 2026 Memorial Day Tribute on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Maui Veterans Cemetery in Makawao.

County of Maui offices, facilities and services will be closed or modified on Monday, May 25, 2026, for Memorial Day.

Maui Memorial Park invites the community to join in honoring veterans on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, at 9 a.m. 

Donations of ti leaves are being sought to ensure there are enough materials for 4,350 lei to honor every fallen veteran at Maui Veterans Cemetery on Memorial Day.

Kaunoa Senior Center is seeking volunteers and ti leaf donations to ensure there are enough lei to honor every veteran at Maui Veterans Cemetery on Memorial Day. There are 4,106 lei needed this year. 

A solemn Memorial Day ceremony was held at the Maui Veterans Cemetery in Makawao on Monday. The event, hosted by the Maui County Veterans Council, included a tribute from Mayor Richard Bissen to the men and women of the armed forces for their commitment to serve. The tribute also honored fallen veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Donations of ti leaves, and finished ti-leaf lei, measuring 16 inches before tied, are urgently needed to pay tribute to 4,000 fallen veterans during Memorial Day ceremonies on Monday, May 29 at Maui Veterans Cemetery in Makawao.

To support and continue this tradition, organizers invite the community to bring plumerias and other flowers to the Blue Hawaiian base (1, Lelepio Place, Kahului) on Sunday, May 28, before Memorial Day.

Family and friends gathered at the Makawao Veterans Cemetery on Maui to reflect and honor the service of the men and women who gave their lives while serving the nation.

Maui residents donated fresh flowers and ti-leaves to the Office of the Mayor to make lei in honor of fallen heroes on Memorial Day.

On Maui, vaccine clinics will be held this Saturday, May 29, from 2-5 p.m. at Amigo’s Kīhei (1215 South Kīhei Road), and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Binhi At Ani Filipino Community Center (780 Oneheʻe Ave.) in Kahului.
