There were 52 new COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i today, including 41 on the island of O‘ahu, 10 on Hawai‘i Island and one on Maui, including one case in Kulai. Kaua‘i reported no new cases today. *As a result of updated information, two cases from Maui were removed from the counts resulting in one less case each in Wailuku and Lahaina.
Hawai‘i Set To Receive Nearly $800,000 To Plan For COVID-19 Vaccination Distribution
These federal funds will go to the Department of Health to develop vaccine distribution plans, determine where the vaccine will be administered, and ensure an adequate number of vaccination providers.

There were 70 new COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i today, including 53 on the island of O‘ahu, 15 on Hawai‘i Island and two on Maui, including cases in Lahaina and Kīhei. Hawai‘i’s COVID-19 death toll increased to 156, with three new deaths reported since yesterday in Maui County. Details on the deaths and when they occurred are pending release.
Maui Police Issue Fentanyl Warning
Throughout the month of September 2020, Maui police say information was obtained that several individuals overdosed on a blue pill believed to be oxycodone. The blue pills were suspected to be laced with fentanyl, according to Maui police.
133 New COVID-19 Cases (87 O‘ahu, 43 Hawai‘i Island, 3 Maui); 11 Deaths (8 Due to Updated Reporting)
There were 133 new COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i today, including 87 on the island of O‘ahu, 43 on Hawai‘i Island and three on Maui. Kaua‘i reported no new cases today. Hawai‘i’s COVID-19 death toll increased to 153, with 11 new deaths reported since yesterday on the island of O‘ahu. The cumulative total of cases in Maui County is 394 cases over the course of the pandemic. To date, there have been 19 cases on the island Molokaʻi.
11 COVID-19 Deaths Added on O‘ahu, Most Due to Updated Information
Eleven COVID-19 deaths on Oʻahu are being reported by the state today with eight of the deaths occurring between Aug. 15 to Sept. 15, 2020. Eight of the deaths were recently validated and classified as those records became available.
