A public aerial fireworks show for the Fourth of July will take place at 8 o’clock tonight (July 4), offshore of the Grand Wailea at 3850 Wailea Alanui Drive in Kīhei. The Grand Wailea has reported that the show will last approximately 15 minutes.

Starting Thursday and continuing through the Fourth of July weekend, the Maui Police Department’s Traffic Division will conduct sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols at various locations to address impaired driving.

County of Maui offices, facilities and services will be closed or modified on Friday, July 4, 2025, for the Fourth of July holiday.

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kā‘anapali have announced a series of events across the property to celebrate the Fourth of July. Highlights include the resort’s annual “flower drop,” where thousands of orchids will be showered onto guests via helicopter, as well as a festival summer BBQ from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A single public aerial fireworks display is scheduled on July Fourth, at 8 p.m. from a barge positioned offshore of Front St. in Lahaina. The sale of July Fourth fireworks begins on June 29, 2023 and ends on July 4, 2023 at 8 p.m., the County of Maui’s, Department of Fire and Public Safety announced.

The LahainaTown Action Committee and the County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development are seeking donations from the community to support this year’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular in Lahaina Town.

Fireworks can only be legally set off from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the Fourth of July. Aerial fireworks are illegal and extremely dangerous. The import, transfer, sale, or use of aerial fireworks without a permit is a Class C Felony.

The Shops at Wailea welcomes Maui Classic Cruisers from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 4 where 35-40 classic and vintage cars will be parked outside Island Gourmet Markets.

Maui police issued three citations for fireworks violations during a Forth of July enforcement detail held over the weekend. Police also generated 18 cases and recovered 26 aerial fireworks that were submitted as evidence.

Due to commercial vendors deciding not to sell firecrackers for this holiday, no permits are being issued for firecracker purchases on Maui for the upcoming Fourth of July holiday. 

The launch comes ahead of the July 4th holiday weekend as police implement sobriety checkpoints and other units continue to enforce COVID-related safety measures.

Maui celebrated the 4th of July holiday weekend with annual traditions that included the 54th Annual Makawao Rodeo Parade on Saturday, and the 4th of July Fireworks display in Lahaina Town on Thursday.  

Public fireworks displays are planned on July 4th from an offshore barge along Front Street in Lahaina at 8 p.m.; and at the 26th Annual Lānaʻi Pineapple Festival at Dole Park on Lānaʻi on July 6th at 8:30 p.m.
