Volunteer registration is now open for Maui’s annual PGA TOUR stop, announced The Sentry on Tuesday.

Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler and Justin Rose are among the final field of 59 set to tee it up Jan. 4-7 at The Sentry tournament, which kicks off the 2024 PGA Tour season.

New ticket options for The Sentry 2024 event will feature PGA TOUR winners and offer a variety of experiences while emphasizing community support and recovery efforts in West Maui.

The Lahaina Junior Golf Association has recognized the academic excellence of five members by awarding them college tuition scholarships totaling $6,000.

Volunteers are needed for the 2024 Sentry Tournament of Champions as it returns to the Plantation Course at Kapalua in January. 

With their recent titles, Emiliano Grillo, Jason Day, Wyndham Clark and Tony Finau are among the latest players to qualify for the 2024 Sentry Tournament of Champions.

The Sentry Tournament of Champions raised a record $694,705 for charity in 2023. It’s the largest charitable impact figure raised for the local community since the event moved to Maui in 1999.

The new Hula Badger IPA will be available at Koholā Brewery and select retailers on Maui throughout the tournament, and the week following, until supplies last. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Maui United Way and their 39 partner agencies. The 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions gets underway on Thursday, Jan. 5.

“From exclusive food offerings to the best views in golf, attending the Sentry Tournament of Champion is a celebration of Maui and offers an experience for every fan,” according to tournament organizers.

New for 2023 and beyond, the Sentry Tournament of Champions now includes the top 30 players from the final FedExCup standings who qualified for the previous year’s Tour Championship.

The Sentry Tournament of Champions, in conjunction with First Tee – Hawaiʻi, will host a fun and interactive event for Junior golfers of all skill levels.

To kick off the new year, The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua will host singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Ron Artis II for a special concert. Artis will perform in the resort’s newly reimagined Alaloa Lounge on Saturday, Jan. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m.  

Four more players have committed to play in the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions: 2022 Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, Tony Finau, Max Homa and Sam Burns.

At the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions, for every one adult admission two kids age 15 or under can get in free.

With less than 35 days remaining before one of the most accomplished fields in golf arrives at The Plantation Course at Kapalua for the Sentry Tournament of Champions from Jan. 4-8, the tournament is teaming up with Mauna Loa to provide kamaʻāina tickets at special prices.

Currently, 38 players have qualified for the Maui golf championship — 28 by heir PGA Tour victories this season and 10 by finishing in the top 30 of the final FedExCup standings in August.

The Sentry Tournament of Champions is now accepting volunteer registration for the 2023 event, which returns for the 25th year to The Plantation Course at Kapalua, Jan. 4-8, 2023.

First-time PGA Tour winners Tom Kim of South Korea and Dallas resident Will Zalatoris have qualified for the Sentry Tournament of Champions on Maui.

Maui’s PGA Tour event, the Tournament of Champions at The Plantation Course, has secured Sentry Insurance as its title sponsor through 2035.

Sentry Insurance Foundation presented Maui United Way with a contribution of $25,000 to go toward their 2021-2022 Live United Campaign.
