The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kāʻanapali announced the appointment of Michael Piasecki as director of group sales. Bringing more than a decade of hospitality sales experience in the Hawai‘i market, Piasecki joins the resort’s leadership team at a pivotal time following the completion of the property’s comprehensive $160 million transformation.

The creation of the Director of Cultural & Community Engagement role marks an important step in MLP’s continued evolution as it works to deepen cultural understanding and long-term community relationships, according to the announcement.

The 55th Annual Maui Marathon, set for Sunday, April 27, 2025 is returning to West Maui with an expanded Health & Fitness Expo aimed at supporting local businesses and promoting wellness.

The kama‘āina discount is open to book now and is based on availability. 

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kā‘anapali has expanded its commitment to wellness with a new partnership with Aloha Fitness Maui.

Families can treat mom this Mother’s Day with a brunch experience at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kāʻanapali on Sunday, May 12 with two seatings available, either at 10 a.m. to noon and from noon to 2 p.m. The resort’s outdoor Aloha Pavilion will be transformed into an extensive buffet that will present a culinary journey. In addition to the grand buffet filled with brunch delights, the resort will also showcase live entertainment.

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kāʻanapali marks the completion of its multi-year, $160 million transformation with the complete renovation and rebranding of the Ocean Tower into Kūkahi Tower.

The session, planned for 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21, will be held at The Westin Maui Resort and Spa, Kāʻanapali Honokahua and Honokeana Room, 2365 Kāʻanapali Parkway on Maui. Registration for the event, which will also be broadcast via Zoom, must be completed by Dec. 20.

The Westin Maui Resort and Spa, Kāʻanapali as named Joshua Hargrove as general manager of the property. Hargrove rejoins the Marriott family in his new post and brings more than 17 years of hospitality leadership experience, primarily with Marriott brands on Oʻahu, Maui, and Hawaiʻi Island.

The Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association, in partnership with Kamehameha Schools, has provided more than 1,000 backpacks to Lahaina students affected by wildfires.

As of Sunday morning, Aug. 20, approximately 1,800 individuals are reported to be sheltered at six hotel locations around Maui, with the American Red Cross and volunteers assisting with the transition from congregate shelters to hotels. Displaced individuals still at congregate shelters has dwindled to just 16 people.
