Lānaʻi photos sought for oral history project
Organizers of the project on Lānaʻi are currently inviting residents and former residents to contribute Lānaʻi photographs that will help to “ignite” further brainstorming by the artists and community about oral stories told by several residents.

Plantation Days Festival features cultural mix
A Plantation Days Festival is scheduled to celebrate the plantation era with the food and the cultures of a variety of ethnic groups, many whose descendants came to work in the sugarcane fields. The celebration takes place at the Sugar Museum at 3957 Hansen Road on Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Maui and Hawaiʻi film offices nominated for LMGI Outstanding Film Commission Award
The State and County nomination came from HBO’s “The White Lotus” series. Filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, it was shot under the most difficult conditions in Hawai‘i’s film industry history. The White Lotus, filmed on location within the Four Seasons Maui in Wailea, has since received 20 Emmy Nominations.
