Carrying on the legacy of the late Chef Tylun Pang, Fairmont Kea Lani announces a two-night celebration of culinary past, present and future – benefitting Maui’s aspiring chefs.

Popeyes Hawaiʻi opened a new location today at Puna Kai Shopping Center on Hawaiʻi Island, the franchise’s first neighbor island location. The restaurant already has six locations on Oʻahu.

A Cinco de Mayo celebration is planned on May 5, 2023 from 5 to 10 p.m. The event is organized by businesses in Lahaina Square, including Hungry Coyote Restaurant & Catering, RVN Deli Kitchen Catering, Eating Local, Anytime Fitness, E Foil, Tropical Salsa Studio and more.

The sunflower fields in Central Maui have inspired a collaboration between farmers and the Fork & Salad Maui eatery. Maui Sunflower Salad is only available during the span of the latest sunflower bloom, so customers can enjoy it until the field is ready to be harvested.

Duckine Restaurant in Lahaina is teaming up with award-winning chef Alvin Savella and Maui Cookie Lady to offer a special dessert collaboration for the month of April.

Choice Health Bar opened in Lahaina on April 11, 2011. With no former restaurant experience but a whole lot of passion, co-owners Kathryn Dahm and Emily Kunz managed to create a casual organic eatery with strong community values.

Grand Wailea will host an Easter Brunch at their signature indoor-outdoor dining venue, ‘Ikena, on Sunday, April 9. 

Maui Chef McKenna Shea of Pacificʻo on the Beach was crowned the champion of Food Network’s Chopped Tuesday night.  She won the episode entitled “A Bunch of Abalone!” and took home the $10,000 top prize. 

Maui’s own McKenna Shea, executive sous chef of Pacific’o on the Beach, is competing for a chance to become a Chopped champion on the Food Network.

When seven new fast-food companies opened in Kahului and Wailuku this summer, local chefs took notice.  Local chefs banded together, forming #MauiEatLocal, a movement that encourages dining out at local restaurants.

The honorees are the Maui Food Bank, Maui Hub and Grow Some Good for their work towards food liberation on Maui.

Leilani’s on the Beach presented its inaugural Kūmakua award to Hōkūlani Holt Padilla in recognition of her cultural contributions to the local community. The restaurant established the annual award to honor excellence and commitment to the perpetuation of Hawaiian culture on the island of Maui.
