Pacific Whale Foundation has announced a free community event for kids and families on this year’s World Ocean Day.

The Montage Kapalua Bay is unveiling a special Father’s Day menu at its restaurant, The Hideaway, from June 14 to June 16 from 5 to 10 p.m.

The Bon dance season is set to make its return to Maui this summer. The Japanese Buddhist tradition of Obon, which is held at various temples throughout Maui County, is a community celebration to honor and offer prayers to the spirits of ancestors through music and dance. If you stop by the Haleakalā Creamery booth at Maui AgFest next weekend, don’t be startled if you’re greeted by a goat. No tickets are needed for the free performance taking place on Tuesday, May 21 at 4:30 p.m. at the Baldwin High School auditorium. The annual fifth grade play is a student-led project that started 31 years ago at the Kapālama campus. 

Maui Matsuri is celebrating its 22nd annual Japanese Festival with the Children’s Festival portion of the event planned for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at the Queen Kaʻahumanu Center.

Maui AgFest & 4-H Livestock Fair is getting ready to kick off its 15thyear—and presenter Maui County Farm Bureau (MCFB) is celebrating by bringing back “Taste Education.” This special series features Grown on Maui guests and was part of AgFest’s beginnings back in 2010, and will once again delight ticket holders at this year’s AgFest on Saturday, June 1, at War Memorial Special Events and Baseball Fields.

The 45th Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk Maui takes place this Saturday at the War Memorial Special Events Field in Wailuku. The event starts with a warmup at 7 a.m., followed by the Charity Walk at 7:30 a.m., activities under the main tent at 8:15 a.m., and festivities conclude at 10 a.m.
