Kōkua Pool in Kahului will be closed Saturday, Mar. 7 and Sunday, Mar. 8, 2026, for pool maintenance due to a waterline break, the County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation announced.

The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation announced brief closures scheduled next month for several County pools in Central Maui.

The Kīhei Aquatic Center 50 Meter Pool will close at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, April 4, for Maui Interscholastic League water polo matches. The Training Pool at the facility will remain open for recreational swimming until 4 p.m.

Kīhei Aquatic Center will be closed July 12-17, 2023, for pool maintenance and for state swimming championships. It will reopen July 18 with normal hours.

All County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation pools on the island of Maui will be closed half day from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, for staff hazmat training. Pools will reopen from 12:30 to 4 p.m. that day.

The Wailuku Pool will be closed on Saturday April 1 for Water Safety Instructor Training for pool lifeguards, the County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation announced.

Coach Soichi Sakamoto Pool in Wailuku will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 25 for physical swim testing for Maui Fire Department trainee recruitment.

The County of Maui’s pools and permit offices will be closed on Friday, Dec. 2, for staff training. All pools will reopen during normal operating hours on Saturday, Dec. 3. All permit offices will reopen during normal business hours on Monday, Dec. 5.

The Coach Soichi Sakamoto Pool will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 29, 2021, for the physical swim test for the recruitment of pool guard trainees, the Department of Parks and Recreation announced.  The facility will be open from noon to 4 p.m. that day for lap and recreational swimming.

The New Wailuku Pool will be closed from noon Friday, Oct. 15, through Saturday, Oct. 16, for maintenance and deep cleaning of the pool.

Maui Age Group Swimming Association youth swim meets will be returning to Maui County pool facilities on a gradual, staggered schedule.

The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation announces the beginning of Family Swim at all Maui County pools starting June 1, 2021.
